SCHEDULE:
Petite/Junior Solo Audition: 4:00-4:30 pm
Teen Solo Audition: 4:30-5:30 pm
Senior Solo Audition: 5:30-6:30 pm
Additional Solo Audition: 6:30-7:00 pm

We will be allowing students in studio B to stretch and practice. Students will enter Studio B and exit studio A.
Please note:
All dancers that have auditioned for a Dance Express Line & Production Team , also have the opportunity to Audition to do a solo at the regional/national competitions that DXP attends. Please prepare a 1 minute solo (style and music of your choice) to be performed. This choreography should be something that showcases your best abilities and talents. If you’re not comfortable choreographing your own solo for auditions, you are welcome to perform a past routine. Please bring your music with you to the audition.
Students who dance at the advanced level and/or are a graduating senior are allowed to audition for 2 solos. If you wish to have 2 solos, please come prepared with 2 solo auditions, each one showcasing the different styles.
Dancers who qualify for a solo, will receive either a “Competitive Solo” or a “recreational solo”. A competitive solo will compete at all regional/national competitions that DXP attends in a season. A “Performance Solo” will have the goal of competing their solo at 1 regional competition.
When a soloist is finished with their audition, he/she is excused. (Unless they are auditioning for an additional solo, in which case they will stay until the additional solo audition).
Dancers have the opportunity to request an instructor, however, if you are selected to compete a solo, the assigned Instructor/Choreographer is ultimately the decision of the Competition Team Director.
Our first priority when creating the schedule is to find quality teachers for all of our classes first, solos, unfortunately have to take the back seat. We have high demand for our spaces, therefore solos may not have the most convenient times.
